Paloma earned her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz, where she graduated magna cum laude and received Highest Honors in her major. After teaching and working as an administrator at a ballet school in Los Angeles, she attended CSU Northridge’s teacher education program and received a California teaching credential in Social Science with an English Learner Authorization. Paloma teaches history as an investigative discipline, in which students analyze a variety of sources and consider multiple perspectives, empowering them to draw their own conclusions about topics in history. Approached in this way, history is engaging, inspiring, and fun! Paloma has previously taught 7th grade World History and Research Design. She is passionate about history, literature, political theory, philosophy, and dance.

Paloma recently moved to La Jolla from Los Angeles with her husband, Adam, and their cat, Nora.
