Alicia Tembi

Alicia earned her Bachelors degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While there, she earned certificates in European History and African Studies, and studied abroad in Florence, Italy. She went on to earn her Masters in Teaching and Curriculum in Social Studies from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Alicia was a founding teacher at Two Rivers Public Charter School Middle School in Washington, DC. There, she created and led an expedition-based curriculum, served on the Instructional Leadership team, and mentored 8th graders and their families through the high school application process. In 2013-2014 Alicia was a semi-finalist for the Klingenstein Teaching Award through Expeditionary Learning.

Alicia’s hobbies include running, hiking, yoga, reading, traveling and cooking. She resides in Carlsbad with her husband and two children, Nina and Mathias.
